Scientist Position Available In Monroe, Pennsylvania

Akkodis is seeking a Scientist for a Contract job with a client in Swiftwater, PA . Candidates must be proficient in molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, DNA purification, and PCR, and capable of independently planning and documenting lab experiments.

Rate Range:

$50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Scientist job responsibilities include:

Perform recombinant baculovirus generation and protein expression in insect cell systems, including cell maintenance, transfection, and viral harvest. Conduct molecular biology techniques such as DNA purification, PCR, SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting to support experimental workflows. Design, execute, and document experiments, maintaining accurate records in lab notebooks and electronic systems. Analyze and communicate experimental results in team meetings and contribute to protocol development and report writing. Maintain lab organization, including reagent tracking, equipment cleaning, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Support continuous improvement and compliance efforts, participating in CAPA activities and external audit preparation as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of relevant lab experience, including academic or industry settings. Hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, particularly in baculovirus expression systems and insect cell maintenance. Proficiency in molecular biology methods such as Western blotting, DNA/protein gel electrophoresis, and PCR, with strong documentation and data presentation skills. Pay Details:
