About Us The GI division is home to faculty withexpertise across several areas, including nutrition, IBD, andtherapeutic endoscopy. Additionally, it offers a multidisciplinaryteam approach to all varieties of gastrointestinal disorders incollaboration with several specialties and subspecialties,including surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, and surgicaloncology. in Gastroenterology Completion of an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship In possession of, or be able to secure an unencumbered MOLicense Overview of the Educational Program The ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship program, home to11 fellows, has a long history of graduating outstandinggastroenterologists. Graduates of our training program are inprivate practice and academic programs throughout the country. Ourprogram, which is accredited by the ACGME, is designed to provideopportunities for fellows to develop clinical competence in thebroad field of gastroenterology, including hepatology, endoscopy,clinical nutrition, and GI oncology. In keeping with ACGMErequirements, a minimum of 18 months of clinical experience isrequired, including the equivalent of 5 months of hepatology. Theother 18 months of training are dedicated to elective fields ofclinical training and to research intended to enhancecompetency. It has also expanded its operation to include an advancedtherapeutic endoscopy fellowship and has plans to expand theclinical endoscopy service line to Missouri Center for OutpatientSurgery, in addition to the current ACGME-accreditedGastroenterology fellowship program and non-ACGME-accreditedclinical hepatology fellowship.
