- Associate degree or technical certification in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
- This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing
- Proficiency in standard laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and test documentation
- Experience with wet chemistry techniques and/or metallographic sample preparation
- Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures and specifications
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time
- Complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana useDesired Skills, Experience, and Education
- 1 or more years of laboratory experience working with aerospace materials, coatings, or adhesives
- Experience supporting aerospace or government programs
- Familiarity with NASA specifications and quality systems
- Knowledge of materials used in spacecraft or launch vehicles.
Cimarron is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician to support the development of Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner, a Boeing spacecraft supporting NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
This is an on-site position.
- This opportunity is expected to last for at least 9 months, but is likely to be extended.
- Key Duties
- Prepare and perform chemical, materials, and metallurgical testing in support of production and engineering efforts
- Handle, prepare, and test metallic and non-metallic materials according to industry and program-specific standards
- Operate laboratory equipment, including microscopes, hardness testers, tensile testers, spectrometers, and ovens/furnaces
- Perform wet chemistry procedures and other analytical techniques to evaluate coatings, adhesives, and contaminants
- Record test results, maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, and prepare technical data reports
- Maintain laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with NASA and Boeing standards
- Support failure analysis and root cause investigations as needed.
