Responsible for evaluating spraying requirements for insect and disease control, selecting proper herbicides, and applying chemicals following approved techniques to effectively control undesirable vegetation and prevent damage to adjacent vegetation. Performs normal maintenance functions related to the overall preservation of park facilities and grounds. Work is performed under the supervision of a licensed crew leader or technical supervisor. Work is evaluated through observation of the results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of experience inturf or woody ornamental maintenanceinvolving chemical applicationrequired; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Florida Public Applicator’s Restricted Pesticide License (RUP) with Ornamental and Turf Endorsementsrequired at time of hire. Limited Lawn and Ornamental (LLO) and Florida Right-Of-Way Pesticide Licensesrequiredwithin 6 months of employment.
Valid Florida Driver’s Licenserequired.
