Role:
The General Laborer is responsible for assisting our foreman with installing all types of pipelines. Laborers utilize a variety of skills across multiple field sites to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and with the highest quality. Laborers must be familiar with running hand tools and operators familiar with Directional drills, Backhoes or mini excavators, must be able to lift over 50+lbs. Requires a comprehensive understanding of safety policies and procedures related to utility construction. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform basic gas system maintenance and construction tasks under supervision. Assist in installation and repair of pipelines, fittings, and other gas system components. Adhere to safety protocols and follow instructions from senior technicians. Perform tasks involving physical labor at job sites in the field. Operates hand and power tools of all types. Cleans and prepares sites, dig trenches, cleans up rubble and debris, etc. Provides assistance to other workers and operators. Loads and unloads equipment from trucks. Ensures that all work is being done in compliance with the company’s protocols. Maintains a safety-first culture and actively participates in safety training. Additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 1 years’ experience in gas or pipeline construction, or relevant technical field High School Diploma or GED required. Understanding of English as associated with the jobsite safety and the typical duties required of this position Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables Ability to solve conflict, create team atmosphere, dependable, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more). Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
