Summary This role is an introductory level to the Formulation function, with a pathway to becoming a Formulator to respond to Lead time request and facilitate required stock build. The role provides a supporting function to the Formulators to blend and test proposed formulations on a small scale prior to transfer to manufacturing scale. The Junior Formulator will be trained on Quality Control classical and instrumental analysis and will also develop and maintain a library of key ingredients to support the small-scale formulation of proposed formulations. Duties & Responsibilities Make up trial blends accurately and test against the specification in a timely manner and in line with the prescribed KPI. Independent analysis of materials using predominantly Gas Chromatography, HPLC, UPLC, odor analysis, refractive index, optical rotation and density or other techniques as prescribed by the material specification. Participate in organoleptic evaluation of the products, as necessary. Prepare tasting solutions and arrange for a representative number of individuals to carry out analysis as necessary. Develop and maintain a library of core stock items which are used frequently and ensure we have representative samples within the library which can be used for small scale representative formulations. Request representative samples of inventory from the Inventory team to enable a formulation to be completed and to maintain the library. Utilize Treatt LIMS systems to help trial blends keep to their assigned bulk sheet days. Utilize JDE to locate inventory to support requests to the Inventory team. Ensuring that the working area in the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition. Maintain your own, and other staff’s health and safety always, ensuring a safe working environment. Undergo training in areas specific to Treatt plc business as required. Perform other tasks that may be required from time to time. • Act in the best interest of Treatt PLC at all times. Education & Training Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science, or a related field preferred. Experience in laboratory environments is a plus but not required. Knowledge & Experience Familiarity with quality control processes and

standards is advantageous. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
