Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting quality control/assurance testing on specific construction products and materials. This role consists of physical labor, fabrication of samples, testing of samples, and recording of data. This could include mixing and batching of concrete, cement, epoxies, coatings, steel, aggregates, or consumer product testing.

Shoveling and mixing concretePerform fabrication of test samples (weigh ingredients and mix using the mixer)Clean and assemble molds or special equipmentPerform testing in accordance with applicable standardsProvide technical advice on testing techniques and solutionsAdhere to internal standards, policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned

QualificationsEducation and ExperienceRequired:

High School Diploma / GED0-3 years of experience in laboratory testing

Preferred:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related disciplineKnowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesBasic knowledge in use of hand tools and power toolsBasic knowledge of sample fabricationBasic knowledge in use of scales and balancesAdvanced level of EnglishBasic Mathematical skillsBasic reasoning and problem-solving skillsBasic working knowledge of Office 365TravelTravels up to 10% of the time. Local travel around Atlanta metro-area and in Georgia. Some travel to neighboring states (Southeast US states)EquipmentThis job operates in a temperature-controlled laboratory environment as well as in the field. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones in addition to power tools such as drills.
