Our client is seeking a highly motivated Scientist IIIAnalytical Development with a strong background in flow cytometryand developing, establishing, and qualifying cell-based assays tobe a key contributor to a dynamic and collaborative AnalyticalDevelopment team. The Scientist III will be able to solve complexproblems by applying current best technical practices and be ableto connect cross-functionally to leverage methodologies used inother fields as well as own. The Scientist III will demonstrate asense of urgency in the work while maintaining respect for bestpractices and an understanding for the importance and applicabilityof quality and controls in development activities. Act as a flow cytometry and cell-based assay subject matter expert(SME) and lead on the development and qualification of flow andcell-based analytical methods. Leads and participates in the planning of analytical methodqualification/verification, validation, and tech transferactivities in a cGMP environment. Demonstrates the ability to consistently break down and solvecomplex multifactorial problems. Creates and presents data in a format suitable for cross-functionaland client meetings and is proficient at explaining/defendingconclusions. Proactively prepares for initial and follow up conversations withinternal scientists and clients and prepares responses to likelyquestions/discussion topics. Communicates effectively within the group, across functions, andwith clients. Understands advanced molecular biology, immunology and eukaryoticcellular biology concepts. Independently designs experiments to facilitate the development ofnovel analytical methods and optimization of existingtechniques. Analyze and interpret data collected by other team members andcreate reports and presentations. Proficient in authoring technical development protocols, reports,and tech transfer documents. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department. Required Either a B.S. degree with 8+ years of assay development andvalidation experience or a Master’s degree in Cellular Biology,Immunology or related field with a minimum of 4 years of industryexperience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 2+ years of industryexperience. Ability to independently design experiments, analyze complex dataand interpret and present experimental results. Able to mentor junior team members and support expansion ofAnalytical Development team. Strong sense of responsibility, strong work ethic, self-motivatedattitude and teamwork orientation is an absolute must. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to multitask, operationally and strategically. Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and manage throughcomplex processes/projects. Will interpret and carry out an extensive variety of technicalinstructions in written, oral, schedule, mathematical or diagramform. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and drawvalid conclusions. An equivalent combination of education and experience may beconsidered. Preferred Either a B.S. degree with 12+ years of assay development andvalidation experience or; a Master’s degree in Cellular Biology,Immunology or related field with a minimum of 5 years of industryexperience or; a PhD degree with a minimum of 4+ years of industryexperience.
