Chemist I – 2nd Shift 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Miami, FL 33172 PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.
SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Chemist I to support our laboratory operations through accurate and timely testing of raw materials and finished products. This position is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of industry experience and a degree in chemical or biological science. Experience in a regulated or cGMP environment is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday 11am – 7:30pm
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological discipline 1-3 years of industry experience Experience in regulated/cGMP environment is preferred Knowledge of current SCM concepts and principles Highly organized and flexible with the ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines Proficient in computer applications
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs analytical testing in accordance with USP/NF, EP, BP and JP Pharmacopeias, compendiums or other Standard Testing Methods (STMs) Conducts qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical testing Evaluates materials for compliance to standards and specifications Creates proper laboratory records in accordance to cGMP and company Standard Opearating Procedures and Policies Operates laboratory equipment, such as analytical balances, pH meters, HPLC, GC, UV, IR, Dissolution equipment, Disintegration apparatus, etc Maintains the laboratory clean and organized Perform all other tasks that will be oriented by the QC Supervisor, QC Manager or the QC Director
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures Works frequently in a lab environment, handling of chemicals Employees are required to wear eye protection and lab coats while in the lab area Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs Ability to regularly stand, sit, and walk to perform tasks
