Actalent is Hiring a Development Scientist II Job Description The Development Scientist will join the Flow Cytometry Development team, focusing on evaluating and implementing innovative technologies related to assay and instrument development. This role involves planning, strategizing, and executing studies for the development, evaluation, and optimization of assays related to flow cytometry systems, encompassing hardware, software, and reagents. The candidate will perform tasks within defined boundaries and timelines, review, analyze, summarize data, and present results to the broader team. Writing and reviewing study plans, procedures, and reports to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and procedures is essential. The candidate will exercise judgment within product concepts to identify and troubleshoot technical issues and drive resolutions, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and deliver timely solutions. They will also support the daily management of project timelines with the Program Manager and Project Lead for accurate projection of completion dates and effective prioritization of tasks. Responsibilities Evaluate and implement new technologies related to assay and instrument development. Plan, strategize, and execute studies for flow cytometry systems development. Perform work within defined boundary conditions and timelines. Review, analyze, and summarize data, and present results to the team. Write and review study plans, procedures, and reports for compliance. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues within product concepts. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Support daily management of project timelines with Program Manager and Project Lead. Essential Skills Technical expertise in high complexity, multi-color flow cytometry assays. Proficiency in designing and writing development documents. Strong skills in statistical analysis and summarizing study reports. Familiarity with product cycle and design control requirements. Knowledge in IVD diagnostic products development. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in Biological Science, Immunology, Bio-Medical Engineering, or related field. PhD with 2 years, MS with 3 years, or bachelor’s with 5 years of relevant experience. Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Understanding of scientific method and experimental designs. Proficiency in statistical tools like JMP or Minitab. Excellent organization and time management skills.
