Full Job Description Description:

SUMMARY Responsible for the research and development activities within the company; mainly polyurethane and other polymer products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

R D Formulation Development:

Lead the styrene and polyvinyl pyridine synthesis and dissolution chemistry development process for customer-specific products, collaborating closely with customers to refine and optimize formulations for lab-scale production and evaluation.

Commercialization & Process Scale-up:

Transition laboratory-scale formulations into commercial production while ensuring consistency and cost-efficiency. ?

Analytical Techniques & Testing:

Design, develop, and implement analytical testing strategies to assess product quality, stability, and performance throughout the development cycle.

Customer Collaboration:

Work directly with clients to understand their requirements, offering technical expertise and guidance during product evaluation and development phases. Work closely with the regulatory affairs team to ensure compliance with local and international drug regulations

Project Management:

Manage multiple R D projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines are met, and quality standards are adhered to.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support to customers during the lab-scale evaluation process, troubleshooting issues related to formulations and processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Analyze experimental data and prepare comprehensive reports that summarize findings, insights, and recommendations for customers.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain proper documentation of all R D activities and ensure compliance with company and industry standards for product development and quality control. Ensure that all work complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Master’s degree with 5-10 years of experience or a PhD with 1-5 years of experience in Chemistry Required (or related field) from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Master’s degree with 5-10 years of experience or a PhD with 1-5 years of experience in Chemistry Required styrene and polyvinyl pyridine synthesis and dissolution, purification chemistry, formulation development, and upscaling processes. Experience in a contract services environment is highly preferred. The candidate must apply their chemistry knowledge to understand and learn TSE’s core product: polyurethanes, polyurea, epoxy, etc.

Project Management:

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget. Work closely with the regulatory affairs team to ensure compliance with local and international drug regulations.

Customer-Facing Experience:

Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with customers to meet their needs. Collaborate with academia, industry, and vendors to facilitate product development.

Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of styrene and polyvinyl pyridine synthesis and dissolution, purification chemistry techniques, including HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and other relevant methods. Hands-on experience in product development and scaling is essential. Ensure that all work complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience in lab-scale product development and production. Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards (e.g., GMP, ISO). Previous experience working in a contract research organization (CRO) or similar service-based environment Self-motivated with a passion for scientific discovery and innovation.
