Description:
Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist I to join our dynamic R D team focused on developing innovative and effective hair and body care products. The successful candidate will support the formulation, testing, and evaluation of several types of cosmetic / personal care products, and creatively contribute to growing House of Cheatham’s brands

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation of new hair care products, including shampoos, conditioners, masks, stylers and greases, as well as body care products such as lotions, creams and oils Conduct laboratory experiments, batch mixing, and stability testing following standard procedures. Maintain detailed records of formulation development, test results, and batch adjustments. Evaluate product performance (e.g., texture, appearance, pH, viscosity, etc.) and document findings. Support scale-up and pilot production runs in collaboration with manufacturing. Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and global regulatory requirements. Participate in raw material evaluations and help source innovative ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory equipment and inventory. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing. Other laboratory and administrative activities as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of experience in cosmetic, personal care, or hair care product development (internships included). Basic knowledge of cosmetic formulation and ingredient functionality. Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with formulation software is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a regulated lab or cosmetic industry setting. Familiarity with standard performance testing of hair products Passion for innovation in hair care, skin/body care and consumer wellness.
