Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Control (QC) Specialist with a strong background in industrial manufacturing and plastics to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring product and process quality through the implementation of

ISO 9000

standards and LEAN manufacturing principles. Experience working in start-up or build-out environments is essential, as this role requires a hands-on approach to establishing and optimizing quality systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead quality control efforts across production operations to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer specifications. Develop, document, and implement new process controls and quality systems in alignment with

ISO 9000

standards. Operate and interpret data from quality control equipment including Melt Indexer, Tensile Tester, Flexural Modulus testers, densitometer, and calorimeter. Prepare and run test samples using injection molding extruders to support product evaluations and quality verification. Monitor and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for continuous improvement. Champion LEAN Manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Conduct internal audits and support external audits (ISO, customer, regulatory). Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to support new product introduction and process validation. Train team members on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and compliance standards. Support the selection, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment. Assist in the creation and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation. Participate in material reviews, non-conformance investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Establish and maintain quality metrics and reports for senior management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Quality Management, or a related field work preferred. 5 years of experience in a quality control role within an industrial manufacturing environment, specifically involving plastics . Hands-on experience with Melt Indexer, Tensile Tester, Flexural Modulus testing, densitometer, calorimeter, and injection molding extruders. Required experience with Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) . In-depth knowledge and application of

ISO 9000

standards and LEAN Manufacturing principles. Proven experience in a start-up or facility build-out environment, including setting up quality systems and protocols. Strong documentation skills and experience with QMS implementation. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills. Proficient in the use of statistical quality control tools and methodologies. Experience with ERP and quality management software is a plus. Six Sigma certification or training is an advantage.
