$51.4K – $64.6K a year 4 hours ago Qualifications CGMP Laboratory experience GMP Microbiology Bachelor’s degree Biochemistry Quality control Chemistry Entry level Full Job Description Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials Job Description How will you make an impact? QC Scientist I role at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. involves maintaining quality and safety standards. What will you do? Up to 10% Calibrations/Standardizations/Preparatory Set Up Perform calibrations and standardizations of instruments such as balances and pH meters as required. Standardize volumetric and titrimetric solutions, and prepare buffers and HPLC mobile phases. Up to 80% Testing/Documentation/Data Review Independently perform complex testing techniques and methods assigned. Conduct testing that requires the highest level of difficulty and precision. Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance with analytical instrumentation like HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV. Ensure all critical laboratory equipment is calibrated before use. Up to 5% Housekeeping Maintain and clean laboratory areas, including benches, sinks, and equipment. Occasionally clean laboratory pipettes and other glassware. Dispose of solvents, acids, and other wastes according to company procedures and regulations. Up to 5% Training and Development Engage in continuous training to improve skills, focusing on technological advancements. Train other analysts in areas of expertise, including chromatographic techniques and laboratory documentation. Actively participate in or lead laboratory projects and propose solutions to encountered problems. How will you get here? Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in a Quality Control Laboratory in a GMP Pharmaceutical facility is highly desirable.
