We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist within theFormulation Development Group (FDG) of Regeneron PharmaceuticalInc. at Tarrytown, NY. The Principal Scientist leads formulationand drug product development that may include candidate screeningand selection for preclinical and Phase 1 clinical studies,developing formulations for Phase 2/3 clinical studies andcommercialization. Role May Look Like:

Leadformulation and drug product development activities for multipleprograms of different modalities, such as peptides, monoclonalantibodies or AAVs, in collaboration with analytical and drugproduct process development and other cross functional teams.

Design and conduct biochemical and biophysical characterization andpre-formulation studies to support evaluation of preclinical drugcandidates and developing preclinical and FIH formulationsIndependently designs and conducts stability studies and otherexperiments to support formulation development and stabilitytesting in various phases Develops and applies analytical methodsto support product characterization, formulation development, andstability testing of peptide, protein based biologics and genetherapy modalities, such as AAV. Serve as a program lead andsubject matter of experts at the cross functional research, CMC andprogram teams Presents work at group, department andinter-department meetings, and shares knowledge and expertise offormulations development at cross-functional team meetings. Authorsand reviews formulation development sections of regulatory andtechnical documents, study reports and technology transferdocuments Mentors and manages research associates as needed Seeksout, recognizes and assesses new technologies to improveformulation development and analytical characterization Conductsresearch (problem solving, characterizing protein stability, etc),presents at external conferences and publish work

This Role May Befor You If:

You have hands-on experience in peptides, protein,antibodies, AAV, or other gene and cell therapies in abiopharmaceutical setting You have strong technical knowledge baseand proven experience with biophysical/biochemicalcharacterization, bioanalytical method development or biomoleculeproduct development. You have hands-on experience andtrouble-shooting proficiency with analytical and characterizationtechniques for biomolecules, such as column chromatographic(HPLC/UPLC), capillary electrophoresis and/or biophysicaltechniques (such as

DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC

) for proteincharacterization. You have a passion for science with motivationfor making contributions and thrive in fast-paced collaborativeteam environment. You are capable of multi-tasking, working bothindependently and within a collaborative environment. You excelwhen working in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent verbaland written communication and organization skills, with a proventrack record. To be considered for this opportunity, you must havethe following: PhD in Chemistry, or Biochemistry, Biophysics,Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline with minimum 3years of relevant industry experience.
