Job Description Summary
This position is for a Chemistry Technical Specialist. The successful candidate will ensure the daily operation of the department is functioning at high quality and efficient levels. Duties include but are not limited to training new hires, monitoring daily, weekly, monthly quality and maintenance reports, writing and maintaining chemistry related policies and procedures. The individual will ensure the chemistry departments remain in compliance with all regulatory/accreditation agencies working closely with the Laboratory Director.
Previous experience maintaining and/or leading a hospital chemistry department is essential.

Job summary:
This position is for a Chemistry Technical Specialist. The successful candidate will ensure the daily operation of the department is functioning at high quality and efficient levels. The individual will ensure the chemistry departments remain in compliance with all regulatory/accreditation agencies working closely with the Laboratory Director.
Previous experience maintaining and/or leading a hospital chemistry department is essential.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline with 5 year experience and supervisory or lead experience.

Required License Certification and Registration:

Must have met the educational requirements for and passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (also known as Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS).
Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) in chemistry preferred.
