• JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible for the planning, direction, coordination and control of activities concerned with Laboratory services.

Communicates expectations of the organization to employees. Provides supervision of section functions ensuring accuracy of results. Performs hematological, chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, and microbiologic testing; as needed in a prompt and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies. Develops procedural protocols, and trains other lab personnel in procedures and the use of instrumentation. Participates in PI activities and ensures hospital meets Joint Commission, State of Tennessee, and Federal government standards. Supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. Reports directly to the Director of Lab and supports all aspects of Lab operations. Supervises the Lab if the Director is not readily available. Helps other departments as assigned or needed on a prn basis.

• Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s degree required.
