Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $58,000.00 – $88,000.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. Overview:
We are looking for a research fellow to join the Spine Care Institute’s research infrastructure at Hospital for Special Surgery.
The successful candidate will:
Will assist the spine clinical fellows and service attendings with research projects. Design, plan and execute in pre-clinical and clinical studies Analyze and report study data in a timely manner to internal/external professionals. Serve as Clinical Spine representative on cross-functional teams. Interface with physicians/scientists to develop new research concepts/testing techniques. Assist in large database development, retrospective studies, outcome studies, non-interventional trials, low-risk interventional trials. Collect data directly from patients, electronic databases, and clinical charts for study data entry. Maintain detailed study files and complete case report forms to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements. Perform literature review and provide administrative study support. Attend institutional research educational sessions, weekly staff meetings, and internal training for professional growth. Other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisors and Research Director and may vary based on ongoing and future research.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Doctorate Degree (or equivalent) and an interest in clinical research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A self-starter with strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as a team member. Must be proficient in computer and software use such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Word. Experience in database use is preferred. Previous experience in clinical research, orthopaedics, statistics, and familiarity with spine surgery terminology is an asset.
