TheDepartment of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-timefaculty clinical investigator clinician-research track position forthe Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant/Associate/FullProfessor level. This position seeks an ABIM certified (oreligible) hematologist-oncologist with experience in hematologicmalignancies and blood and marrow transplantation and an activeinterest in the development and conduct of clinical trials. Thisindividual will have a primarily clinical assignment, but will alsobe expected to develop, conduct, and participate in clinical trialsand other collaborative research involving patients withhematologic malignancies, blood and marrow transplantation, andcellular immunotherapy. Our Hematologic Malignancy/BMT/Cell Therapygroup is a charter Core Center of the Blood and Marrow TransplantClinical Trials Network for 20 years, has been FACT-accreditedsince 2000, is one of 12 centers in the LLS Beat AML consortium,and has had consistent growth in patient volumes, while achievingsuperior outcomes. Our group conducts a number ofinvestigator-initiated clinical trials and first in human trials ofBMT with dendritic cell vaccines manufactured in our Cancer CenterGMP facility.

The successful candidate will ideally have thetraining and some experience in developing investigator-initiatedclinical trials and interacting with laboratory scientists fortranslational research. Resources provided are competitive salary,protected time, and the resources of the Cancer Center clinicalresearch office, which provides study coordinators, regulatorysupport, and biostatistical support. We have a culture thatstrongly supports conduct of clinical trials, and we enter nearly15% of all new patients to treatment interventional trials.

Facultyin the UF Division of Hematology and Oncology are members of theUniversity of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), the onlyNCI-designated Cancer Center in North Central Florida. The centeris also the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center based at a publicuniversity in Florida. The Program Director (PD) will lead allaspects of the BMT program including education, research,accreditation, and clinical programming. The BMT Director willserve as the Program Director for both adult and pediatrichematopoietic cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIEStandards and other state and federal regulations. The BMT Directorwill provide leadership for administrative and clinical operations,compliance of program with Foundation for Accreditation of CellularTherapies (FACT) standards and otherregulations/policies.
