Job Description
Clinical Research Coordinator First Coast Cardiovascular Institute Jacksonville, FL 32256 The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is a clinical research professional working with and under the direction of the clinical Principal Investigator (Pl). While the Principal Investigator is primarily responsible for the overall design, conduct, and management of the clinical trial, the CRC coordinates, implements and completes clinical research studies by assisting in regulatory document preparation and collection, recruiting study participants, obtaining necessary informed consent documentation, educating participants, scheduling and conducting study procedures, collecting and recording study data, maintaining detailed study records, interfacing with sponsors, responsible for sponsor study monitoring visits, prepare for and assist in internal and external research audits, and maintain various research databases. Follow GCP and SOP to properly conduct clinical research activities; collects and prepares documents as required by protocol and sponsor Responsible for recruitment of patients to participate in clinical trial with various methods, including screening of medical charts; working with marketing team, coordinating with referring physicians Conduct informed consent; enroll patients in research protocol; schedules study visits; develop strategies to assure compliance and retention of participants. Performs clinical data gathering, measurements and monitoring of data integrity follow ALCOA Principles Explain research protocol to participants; respond to patient inquiries regarding protocol; schedule patient participation; ensure compliance with research protocol; inform referring physicians of protocol requirements. Perform clinical procedures including vitals, venipuncture, EKG, ABI/TBI and operation of electronic monitoring equipment; collect data in cath lab procedures. Perform all study lab processing including centrifuging, aliquoting, storage, freezer maintenance and shipping as assigned. Administer treatment and/or medication in accordance with research protocol. Dispense medication, if required. Maintain accountability records Assists in identifying, reporting and following up on Adverse Events, Serious Adverse Events and Unanticipated problems. Maintains multiple study databases and electronic case report forms; ability to submit data proactively and address queries in a timely manner Maintain Investigator Site File and Subject Source Documents Coordinates monitoring activities with Sponsor’s representative(s) Educate hospital and clinic staff in implementation of research protocol. May direct the work of support staff such as cath lab, sonographers, and research assistants. Perform phone screening and documentation, and clerical duties May make reminder calls and send reminder letters to study participants.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Associate (Required) Bachelor’s Degree in medical or science related field (Highly Preferred)
Experience:
Clinical Research:
1 year (Highly Preferred) Cath Lab Experience (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Clinical Research Coordinator Certification (Highly Preferred)

- Coordinates multiple tasks and work independently and productively in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Integrity, careful attention to detail; ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects’ rights and individual needs; willing to learn and maintain skills in accordance with HIPAA regulations and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
- Proficiency in data management and superior organizational skills.
