April 4-December 31, 2025 The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is searching for a board-certified (or eligible) pediatric hematologist/oncologist who is focused on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation/cellular therapy/gene therapy to join our collaborative, patient-focused team of 12 attending physicians (including 2 nocturnists), six inpatient advanced practice providers, eight outpatient advanced providers, and a fellowship program. We have the only pediatric stem cell transplant, CAR-T, gene therapy, and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship programs in South Carolina. The pediatric and adult BMT and Cellular Therapy Programs are FACT accredited as a combined program and achieved overperforming status in the most recent CIBMTR outcomes 2020-2022. The program is an authorized/qualified treatment center for gene therapy. The pediatric cancer program has been consistently ranked in the top 50 programs by US News and World Report, including a ranking of 15th in the country for outcomes in 2020-2021. The Division is an active participant in clinical trials through the Children’s Oncology Group, Beat Childhood Cancer, the Pediatric Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Consortium, and BMT-CTN. We also maintain a dynamic portfolio of industry-related oncology, hematology, and sickle cell clinical trials including gene therapy. The Division collaborates closely with Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC’s NCI designated cancer center, as well as the Darby Clinical Research Institute. The Center for Cellular Therapy is a cGMP facility actively engaged in the production of research cellular therapy products. In 2020, MUSC Children’s Health opened the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a 100,000 square foot, 250-bed, state-of-the-art building that is transforming the delivery of fetal, women’s and children’s care in the region. Supporting the outstanding clinical care at our Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion is the Charles P.
