The Department of Medicine at the University of the TennesseeGraduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a dynamicclinician researcher with excellent clinical, educational,leadership, and communication skills to lead a well-establishedDivision of Hematology/Oncology and be a distinguished leaderwithin the Cancer Institute at the University of Tennessee MedicalCenter. The successful applicant will provide strategic directionin establishing an ACGME-accredited medical oncology fellowship andin developing a flourishing clinical education and research programto advance the tripartite healing, education, and discovery missionof the Medical Center. The position offers a balance of clinical,administrative, research and scholarly activities. The outpatient clinical operation of the hematology/oncologydivision is within the Cancer Institute, which is the largestprovider of cancer care in East Tennessee. The Cancer Instituteregistered over 70,000 patient visits with over 2700 new cancerpatients diagnosed annually. In-hospital consultations are providedat the Medical Center, a leading regional academic medicalcenter. Knoxville is ideally located in beautiful East Tennessee near thefoothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, affordingmetropolitan conveniences coupled with rural charm.
