Trauma Research Manager – Trauma Program- FT Days Grady Health System United States, Georgia, Atlanta 80 Jesse Hill Junior Drive Southeast (Show on map) Jun 17, 2025 Description The Trauma Research Manager is responsible for supporting the overall development and oversight of the Trauma Research Program, and for elements required for American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level 1 Trauma Center verification pertaining to research and scholarship. The objectives of the Grady Trauma Research Program are research and scholarly activity that (1) promotes the mission of Grady Trauma to become the premier academic Trauma Center in the United States; (2) optimizes care of injured patients; (3) utilizes community-based participatory investigations. The Trauma Research Manager tracks and oversees all Grady Trauma research efforts and initiatives in accordance with the criteria and standards established by Grady, its associated institutions, the State of Georgia, and the ACS. Responsibilities 10% Customer Facing and Interation
Supports & facilitates management of public-facing Grady Trauma Research Program.
Regularly (quarterly or more often) updates Grady Trauma website with current projects, presentations, and publications. Collaborates with Grady Marketing to highlight noteworthy research.
Promotes use of Trauma Registry data for research projects.
Prioritizes and completes Trauma Registry data requests in an expeditious manner ? within 10 business days.
Assesses data needs and provides support to investigators in completing required forms for the requisition of Trauma Registry data.
Assists in designing research projects based on identified trends in Trauma Registry data. 20% Regulatory Management
Oversees & maintains research requirements to ensure compliance with ACS regulatory requirements for Level 1 Trauma Center verification.
In preparation for the triannual ACS site survey, maintains a current list of all active projects, presentations, and publications by Acute Care Surgery faculty, subspecialty groups, and other team members who utilize the Trauma Registry, or where studies include Grady trauma patients.
Facilitates communication regarding upcoming or expected projects, presentations, and publications as outlined above. Supports development and hosting of Grady’s annual Trauma Symposium.
20% Project Management
Oversees & monitors current Acute Care Surgery faculty projects. Tracks all in process & approved GROC and IRB research projects. Provides list of current projects to rotating trainees.
Provides routine (quarterly or more often) Trauma Research reports to TOPIC to include current research projects and recent publications.
Facilitates project review through Grady Research Oversight Committee (GROC).
Facilitates writing of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, time permitting and manages IRB spreadsheet/tracking tool.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Trauma Program Director in collaboration with the Director of ACS/Trauma Research.
Facilitates weekly or as needed Acute Care Surgery Research meetings in collaboration with the Director of Acute Care Surgery Research. Supports Acute Care Surgery faculty in maintaining awareness of pertinent meetings, abstract deadlines, and grant opportunities. Assists with obtaining and managing datasets for research purposes. Assists with facilitating the STAR Program. Coordinates involvement in multi-center trials. Facilitates weekly or as needed Acute Care Surgery Research meetings in collaboration with the Director of Acute Care Surgery Research. Supports Acute Care Surgery faculty in maintaining awareness of pertinent meetings, abstract deadlines, and grant opportunities. Oversees & monitors current Acute Care Surgery faculty projects.
