Empowering. BAE Systems is seeking a SHE Specialist II to support at its Anniston, Alabama manufacturing site. In this role as a SHE Specialist, you will assist in implementing, integrating, inspecting, overseeing, and maintaining programs for SHE protection and compliance to local, state, and federal regulations. You’ll help ensure that regulatory obligations are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner and that SHE risks are effectively managed. Included duties in the SHE Specialist role: + Participate in emergency planning activities; + Educate, guide, and help train employees and subcontractors in SHE policies and procedures; + Support new hire orientations; + Use your knowledge in conducting Job Hazard Analysis; + Be responsible for required routine SHE duties such as shop inspections and inspecting fire extinguishers and AED units; + Support Near Miss reporting and tracking to closure; + Facilitate and report out on incident investigations; + Assist with hazardous material and waste management, groundwater remediation, waste water reporting, and environmental sustainability; + Other duties and job responsibilities as assigned.
Note:
Some SHE Specialists volunteer as a First Responder (First Aid, CPR, BBP, AED).
- Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- + Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or a related discipline, and two years of related experience; + Knowledgeable in SHE regulations and compliance; + Experience in conducting air and noise sampling; + A collaborative team player with the ability to take initiative individually; + An effective communicator, written and verbal; + Able to assist in facilitating meetings and working groups; + Ability to coach and consult with employees in an effort to build a culture of SHE excellence; + Exceptional organizational skills; + Basic knowledge of SHE Management Systems (ISO 45001/ISO 14001 requirements); + Computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
- Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- + Intermediate Industrial Hygiene knowledge/experience; + Project Management skills; + RCRA, DOT, HazMat 40 hr Training; + Familiarity with audit processes; + Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certificate in Hazardous Material Management (CHMM), and/or Certified in Industrial Hygiene (CIH); + Experience identifying and mitigating risk management.

Full-Time Salary Range:
$63662 – $108225 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
