Andalusia, AL 36420 Position Summary The mission of the Environmental Scientist is to perform a variety of environmental services, provide environmental assessments, reports, and evaluations for environmental projects. The essential functions of the Environmental Scientist are to:

to guide and protect our clients. Prepare scope and fee proposals for new project opportunities and review with client to gain approval. Maintain communication with the client during project. Maintain client satisfaction through project follow-up after project completion. Seek potential supplementary consulting services with existing clients.

to count on each other by building a network of friendships. Under supervision, perform field work and prepare environmental reports. Under supervision, prepare basic environmental reports. Under supervision, provide support in department protocols, guidelines, and standards with regards to environmental reports. Perform field work in compliance with company safety policies. Assist with the preparation of project deliverables according to the planned direct labor and expense budgets outlined by the Project Manager or Practice Leader. Under supervision, assist in the review of detailed plans, specifications, and estimates of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards. Under supervision, be cognizant of task budgets and schedules within project requirements. Track project expenses for project field supplies and reimbursables. Efficiently manage time towards completion of assignments within schedule and budget. Successfully achieve the financial goals set forth for your position (quality work within project budgets, direct labor hours, etc.).

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. BS degree in environmental science with 0-2 years of experience. 3 months of relevant environmental internship, work, or research experience preferred. Valid driver’s license.

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of environmental regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Seeing, hearing, talking, standing, stooping, bending, walking, reading, and writing. Reaching with hands and arms. Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more. Ability to work extended hours at times.

Environment:

Predominantly office environment: some overnight travel is required. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate. Frequently works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments. The noise level on the construction site is often loud.
