This contract will be in support of theDepartment of Interior (DOI) Orphan Wells Program Office (OWPO) toprovide cultural resource support.

Job ClassificationThis position is classified as exempt.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcedure Development:

Develop NEPA implementation procedures for newgovernment agencies, ensuring they align with federal regulations and bestpractices.

NEPA Compliance:

Ensure all projects comply with NEPA regulations,including categorical exclusions, environmental assessments (EA), andenvironmental impact statements (EIS).

Documentation:

Prepare and review NEPA documentation, including EAs,EISs, and categorical exclusion determinations.

Project Management:

Support project planning and execution, ensuringenvironmental considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with federal, state, and localagencies, as well as community stakeholders, to gather input and addressconcer

Research and Analysis:

Conduct research and analysis to identify potentialenvironmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies.

Training and Guidance:

Provide training and guidance to project teams onNEPA requirements and best practices.

Reporting:

Prepare reports and presentations for senior management andregulatory agencies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Travel may be required up to 5-10%5-10 years of experience in NEPA planning and environmental compliance.

Experience with Department of Defense projects is a plus.

Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Anthropology, Archeology,Architectural History, Architecture, Historic Preservation,Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field. Master’sdegree prefValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordStrong analytical, writing, and communication skills. Proficiency inenvironmental impact analysis and NEPA documentation.

Thorough understanding of NEPA regulations, categorical exclusions, andenvironmental assessment processes.

Other certifications/licenses are a plus.

Good communication skills, both verbal and writtenGood problem solving skills and able to work well independentlyProficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verificationof education requirementsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described herein are representative of those which mayneed to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functionsof the job.
