Environmental Specialist 1 – AL Genesis Technical Staffing Calera, AL 35040 Genesis Industrial is hiring an Environmental Specialist in Calera, AL area.
Payrate:
$28-32 per hour
Job Description:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air quality, water quality, waste management, and hazardous materials handling. Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions. Stay updated on evolving environmental regulations and proactively implement necessary changes.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes. Project management skills with the ability to participate in a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders. Proficiency in environmental management software and data analysis tools. Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus. Physical ability to climb stairs. Physical ability to pull up 50 pounds of equipment up to height using ropes. Must be able to work at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet from grade. Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software. Must be able to use tools to fabricate simple mechanical systems. Must be able to pull and back a trailer. Must be able to work in hot work areas.
