Job Description

Environmental Specialist Alpha-Omega Training and Compliance (AOTC) Titusville, FL 32780 Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable Environmental Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices. This position involves working on various projects related to water resources, environmental remediation, and consulting, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Duties Provide full, direct, on-site oversight and supervision of field activities conducted at various sites and installations. Prepare and execute environmental field tasks and related office work. Lead and assist team members in the preparation of plans, reports, and technical presentations. Coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, and subcontractors. Support planning of system operation and maintenance (O&M), field investigations, and remediation work. Conduct field sampling and assessments, and system O&M. Perform drilling and monitoring well installation oversight, logging of soil boreholes, remedial action implementation (e.g. subsurface injections),O&M, and report preparation including text, tables and figures. Field work will also consist of the collection and proper documentation of soil and groundwater samples to define the nature and extent of soil and groundwater contamination. The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform field work, including lifting and maneuvering of equipment and filled sample coolers, in a range of weather conditions. Skills Understanding of water resources management principles. Knowledgeable in environmental consulting practices and methodologies. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications Knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines related to environmental protection. Experience in project scheduling and time management skills. Prior fieldwork experience. Proficient in ArcGIS a plus Phase I and II environmental site assessments Proficient in Adobe Illustrator Proficient in Golden Software Surfer and Grapher a plus Experience At least two years of previous experience Experience in environmental sampling, data analysis, and management. Previous experience with environmental investigation and remediation a plus Remedial system O&M. Knowledge and experience with RCRA, CERCLA, DoD, DOE, or USEPA projects. Experience should include characterization and remediation of hazardous waste sites. Experience in performing hazardous waste site investigations and various types of sampling, including low-flow groundwater sampling, surface water, sediment, soil, subsurface vapor, and air sampling is desired; remediation experience is a plus. Experience with emerging contaminants (PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, etc.) and performing Phase I and Phase II ESAs a plus.
