Foster Care Rapid Response Specialist:
The Foster Care Rapid Response Specialist provides high quality de-escalation and assessment services to clients in crisis to ensure safety, divert inappropriate Baker Acts of youth, and to maintain current placement. Responds to intervention calls with a 60 minute response time by physically reporting to the crisis site to assess and evaluate the child in need of immediate mental health services Distinguishes between a mental health crisis and behavioral emergency on the basis of potential harm to the child or others Provides therapeutic insight, immediate de-escalation and continued stabilization assistance as needed, while ensuring the child’s dignity is maintained and her or his best interests are accommodated

Education and Experience Requirements for
Foster Care Rapid Response Specialist:
Conferred Master’s degree in social work, therapeutic mental health counseling or marriage and family therapy disciplines. At least two years’ experience providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents and developing treatment plans based on current DSM/ICD diagnoses. FL Baker Act experience Moderate computer skills, such as inputting at least 45 wpm. Reliable transportation with liability insurance, a FL driver’s license and good driving record Preferred Experience for
Foster Care Rapid Response Specialist:
A current FL LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT Knowledge and understanding of the foster care system along with the impacts of foster care placement on youth Prior experience working with foster families in a therapeutic manner •CGC is a Drug Free Workplace •
