Environmental Scientist AirMD Miami, FL AirMD is a consulting firm offering building science, environmental and industrial hygiene services to a diverse set of clients. AirMD offers a turn key solution for all clients’ needs relative to indoor environmental quality and building condition. Industries served include residential, commercial, insurance, property management, real estate, construction, healthcare, senior living, marine and municipalities. Services include assessment and testing for Allergens, Asbestos, Bacteria, Chemicals, Formaldehyde, Heavy Metals, Lead, LEED, Mold, Particulates, Pesticides, Volatile Organic Compounds, and Water Quality. Additionally, AirMD conducts Building Science and Diagnostic investigations, Catastrophe Response, Restoration Project Management and Water Loss Assessments.
Position Summary:
AirMD is a multi state consulting firm currently seeking candidates for the position of environmental scientist. Candidates must have a science or engineering educational background, have the ability to conduct technical assessments and can multi-task. Candidates must possess good writing and verbal skills. Responsibilities include conducting indoor environmental assessments on project sites involving sampling, data analysis, project support, proposal creation, report writing, and client support. Work schedule is a normal working week; however, there may be times when it is necessary to work after hours in support of specific projects.
Travel:
Occasionally the consultant will be required to travel but will primarily be based in the south Florida region. Qualifications Shall possess a science degree in industrial hygiene or any life science e.g. biology or closely related disciplines. Shall possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Shall have the knowledge of computer software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required to produce documents, correspondence, briefings, and spreadsheets.
Description of Duties:
Shall independently conduct site assessments for a variety of indoor environmental related issues including but not limited to air quality, moisture intrusion, chemicals and water quality. Shall prepare project proposals, technical reports and protocols. Shall actively contribute within a technical team. Shall conduct a wide variety of indoor environmental and industrial hygiene assessments, utilizing both widely acceptable practices and novel techniques. Shall provide scientific and technical support to clients.
