Environmental Specialist 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 9501 Range Line Road, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34987 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in planning, development, implementation and recording of environmental programs, procedures and plans, as well as coordinate, manage and conduct environmental sampling, testing and audits. Responsibilities Conduct environmental assessments and audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at our branch locations. Prepare and update environmental plans such as SWPPP, SPCC, Waste Management and monitoring of all facilities to stay in compliance with government regulations, permits, industry standards and company policy. Promote worksite environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, industrial health, safety and environmental laws and best practices. Manage environmental permitting processes, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner. Provide guidance on environmental compliance issues, including interpretation of EPA regulations and laws. Investigate on and off-site chemical releases to the environment, including follow-up actions on all remediation work from third party environmental contractors to onsite branch management Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, Company employees and vendors to communicate project objectives and outcomes. Stay updated on emerging trends in environmental science and legislation to inform best practices within the organization. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in environmental related studies with over five (5) years of hands-on experience in environmental activities of complex chemical plants. Strong understanding of environmental regulations and current practices. Advance training in environmental certifications and activities Proficiency in Microsoft programs, including but no limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint; CADD knowledge is a PLUS Travel is required to all company locations, a minimum of four times per year and whenever required by activities either at the facility site or a customer location. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engagement with different groups, including regulators, lawyers, customers and Company employees.
