Examples of Duties Under general supervision, you Classify and assign Chatham County Detention Center detainees according to established policies and procedures for housing, work detail, and other activities. Maintain classification records and ensure that records are current, complete, and secure. Respond to complaints and new classification information, review new information, and revise classification in a timely manner. Use communication skills involving both technical and non-technical language. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and Two (2) years of college-level course work in Behavioral Science or a related field, and Two (2) years of work experience in the corrections field; or Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science or a related field. During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team. In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing. Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
