About the Agency
The mission of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s wildlife, fisheries, and parks, provide quality outdoor recreation, and engage the public in natural resource conservation.
About the Position
This position is located in the Wildlife Bureau at the MS Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. This will be an associate biologist position working within the Regional Biologist Program as well as Wildlife Management Areas and Species Programs.
What you’ll need to be Successful
At this level, employees conduct surveys, investigations, and assessments; perform simple statistical analyses for initial interpretation; may prepare and review routine summaries and technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance; identify potential problem areas and issues; and contribute to developing solutions. This position will require field work and being familiar with working outdoors doing land management.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-1 year of experience.

Agency preferred qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Wildlife Biology/Natural Resource related field and 0-1 year of experience.
