Summary of Job Content:

This position reporting to the HR Manager is responsible for all environmental functions and activities of the plant including reporting, training, compliance, and permitting. Also, works with the corporate Environmental Director to implement compliance strategies and maintain compliance with various operating permits and regulations. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Accountabilities:
Environmental Reporting:

Waste

  • All RCRA (hazardous waste) reporting, any local waste disposal reporting requirements Air
  • Title V Permit Renewal, Biannual Title V Compliance Review Form, Annual Emissions Inventory Water
  • NPDES Permit Renewal, Monthly Discharge Monitoring Report, Quarterly Sanitary Sample Results SARA Tier II Report, SARA Form R Promote and coordinate improvement of the facility’s environmental programs.

Stay current with environmental regulatory requirements and the requirements of the site’s specific environmental permits and DOT regulations. Meet with all State and Federal Inspectors that visit the facility and work with outside agencies. Coordinate all Environmental and DOT training for the entire facility. Perform necessary plant inspections such as those required by SPCC/SWPPP and DOT. Monitor and maintain regulatory compliance with site’s air, water, and waste permit requirements. Perform environmental incident investigations and follow-ups involving the Incident Review Committee. Respond to regulatory agency requests and enforcement actions. Project work including permits for installation of new equipment and removal or movement of equipment. Schedule all hazardous waste pickups and complete all necessary information for manifesting shipments. Development and implementation of effective risk management procedures and programs.

Skills:

BS Environmental Engineering or related degree and/or experience. People skills to be able to work with union, supervisors, management, regulatory officials, and corporate office. Knowledge of Environmental Regulations and Reporting requirements. Strong mathematical and analytical skills and concepts. Knowledge of statistical tools. Use of SAP Computer System a plus. Experience At least 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility with responsibility for environmental activities Experience in project engineering related to storm water or similar fields is preferred. Familiarity with EPA regulations and compliance requirements is a plus. Experience with HEC (Hydrologic Engineering Center) tools will be advantageous. Background experience with handling Title IV Air Permitting required. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data effectively. $60,000.00
