- The Challenge
- We’re looking for an Engineering Specialist to join our Roadside Environmental team.
In this role, you will
- Assist our Roadside Environmental Engineer to ensure contracts for rest area maintenance, selective vegetation, mowing, sweeping, and irrigation are correctly prepared and administered
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to junior supervisors/crews to ensure successful delivery of work plans
- Provide prompt responses to maintenance needs in delivery of work plans and maintenance needs in the delivery of our Roadside Environmental Units Program
- Review daily inspection reports
- Plan, review, and schedule staff
- Develop agreements and project field reviews.
- What You Bring
- Experience in contract administration or contract development
- Experience in the supervision of work crews
- Experience reviewing daily inspection reports, scheduling project staff, and conducting project field reviews
- Experience working with project plans, pay item quantities, proposals, estimates, and basic landscape guidelines
- Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
- Knowledge of NCDOT roadside and maintenance operations
- Safety toe footwear.
- Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related discipline, and
- 6+ years progressive technician experience; or> >>
- High School/GED Diploma, and
- 8+ years progressive technician experience; or> >>
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
