Join our team as a Staff Professional within our Utilities (Water/Wastewater) practice area. This is a hybrid role based out of our Cary, North Carolina office. In this role, you will work under the direction of experienced engineers and technical staff to support the development and analysis of hydraulic models for water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You will assist with system assessments, data analysis, and the preparation of technical documentation. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in utility infrastructure projects and the opportunity to grow your skills within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and maintenance of hydraulic models for water and sewer systems under the guidance experienced engineers and technical staff Support data collection, model calibration, and analysis efforts as directed by technical leads Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, figures, and presentations for internal and client use Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other technical professionals on project tasks Participate in field investigations, team meetings, and project coordination activities Why WR? Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical engineering or related field 2+ years of related experience in the field of specialty Exposure to hydraulic modeling software, including WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, SewerCAD, and PCSWMM Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Execute multiple tasks under pressure and prioritize responsibilities Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently Understand planning, scheduling, and tracking milestones, tasks, budget, and activities Willingness to take direction and learn software applications Experience with common statistical programming languages such as R or Python (preferred but not required) Experience with wastewater process modeling software like BioWin (preferred but not required) The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
