Risk AssessorSummary:
Supervises program activities assessing existing and potential human health risks associated with exposure to existing or potential environmental contamination, as well as formulating recommendations and guidance for reduction and mitigation of risks resulting from environmental hazards. Maintains an effective collaborative working relationship with department administrators, as well as state and federal agencies.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with major study in environmental health, public health, toxicology, epidemiology, chemistry, biology, or a closely related biological or chemical sciences field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
Six years experience as an Environmental Engineer or an Environmentalist conducting human health risk assessments and performing related duties for a public or private environmental health organization, with responsibility for program management, research, planning, monitoring and evaluation, two years of which shall have involved supervisory duties as well as the preparation of various environmental documents, legal briefs or related research.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Responsibilities:
Researches technical literature, attends technical conferences, and reviews and evaluates compiled environmental sampling data, reports, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies from state and federal agencies to identify whether chemical contaminants pose a human health risk and to assist in the development of human health policies for NHDES.
