The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within our facilities. This position requires knowledge of custodial practices, floor care, and environmental services, particularly in commercial settings. The Environmental Specialist will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations while implementing effective cleaning and sanitization procedures. Responsibilities Respect participants’ privacy and preferences about personal items. Knock before entering rooms and bathrooms. Perform custodial duties such as cleaning (dust, vacuum, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) offices, bathrooms, and common areas daily according to facility procedures. Refill toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispensers when needed. Clean walls, door frames, doors, ceilings, windows, mirrors, mini blinds, baseboards, light fixtures, office furniture, etc. Clean staff lounge daily to be sure they are spill and food free. Wipe down all chairs, handles, and frames when needed to be sure they are sanitary and free of dust and food particles. Sweep front porch and be sure front gates, front doors are free of webs and dirt/pollen/dust. Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to effectively clean surfaces while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify areas needing attention or improvement. Collaborate with the Supervisor to develop and implement best practices for environmental services. Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inventory of supplies, and compliance with OSHA standards. Respond promptly to any cleaning emergencies or special requests from management or staff. Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or environmental services is preferred. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to cleaning and sanitation practices. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the workplace. Physical Demands and Environment Employees may be required to sit, bend, stoop, see, talk, and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 75 pounds. Employees is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
