ABOUT THE POSITION VHB
is looking for a talented Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team in our new Winooski, VT office supporting projects throughout Vermont. At VHB, our Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) practice is dedicated to delivering comprehensive services that investigate, manage and mitigate environmental risks while satisfying regulatory requirements and complex project variables. Join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing how we deliver technically excellent and thoughtful SIR services to our clients. You’ll be instrumental in creating cost-effective, multi-disciplinary solutions and providing essential SI&R support for some of Vermont’s most notable development and infrastructure projects. Serving clients mainly in Vermont, but also across England, we offer a complete suite of services-including site assessments, subsurface investigations, as well as design and permitting support, which add value and foster sustainable growth. Responsibilities Field data collection (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil gas sampling) to support site assessments
Observe and document investigation (soil borings and monitoring well installation)
Construction and remediation activities for compliance with approved plans
Conduct site assessments
Leveraging technology to support data management and visualization
Assist with writing technical reports, correspondence, notes and memoranda Skills and Attributes Ability to work in field and office settings
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including directing and managing subcontractors
Motivated, with strong ability to problem solve and work independently
ArcGIS experience/coursework preferred but not required. Qualifications 1-3 years of environmental consulting experience required
3+ years of environmental consulting experience preferred
Masters degree preferred and may be substituted for work experience
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
OSHA 40 hr.
HAZWOPER
certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment (cost covered by VHB) We are VHB!
