Job Description:
Job Purpose
Assists the Control Equipment Operator, ensuring that operation and maintenance of pollution control equipment meets environmental standards and production requirements. In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Aids in repairs to WESP pump, cleans tubes and nozzles
- Aids in maintaining RTO in good working order; bake outs, valve cleaning, and bearing replacement
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining WESP equipment and building
- Manages the washout of the RTOs
- Replaces bags, performs leak checks, maintains magnehelic gauge
- Performs visual emissions readings using EPA Method 9 standards during bakeouts or upset conditions and records results
- Aids in maintaining and auditing the opacity monitors
- Applies caustic to maintain a neutral PH in WESP system and monitors daily
- Collects test samples according to sampling SOPs
- Participates in environmental improvement projects
- Participates as needed with emission testing
- Participates as needed in environmental training Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with safety rules and regulations
What do I need to be successful?
Skills, knowledge, abilities: - Good eye/ hand coordination
- EPA method 9 certification
- Forklift/ manlift certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of company air use permit requirements as well as general knowledge of environmental laws and terminology
- Ability to comprehend and apply information in machine maintenance manuals
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
- Excellent communication and basic math skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Must be able to work safely and determine potential work hazards
- Must be willing to work outside of normal hours when needed
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years mill operating experience preferred
Work Environment
OSB Manufacturing Plant
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures/ climates
