Position Overview:
We are seeking a mechanically inclined Environmental Field Technician to support field-based environmental projects throughout the State of Florida. This position involves approximately 75% travel, including overnight stays. The ideal candidate may have hands-on experience with environmental field equipment, control panels, and basic mechanical systems. However, we encourage applicants with a strong work ethic, initiative, and a willingness to learn to apply. A college degree is not required, though a vocational or technical degree is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform environmental media sampling (groundwater, soil, sediment, and air) following established procedures.
- Install and maintain remediation systems and monitoring wells.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain field and remediation system equipment, including basic control panels.
- Oversee construction activities and source removals under the direction of senior staff.
- Calibrate and maintain field monitoring instruments.
- Prepare field documentation such as boring logs, calibration logs, and sampling records.
- Assist with operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems.
- Drive to project sites throughout Florida and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods. Preferred Skills and Qualifications (Not Required but Ideal):
- Vocational/technical training or Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with environmental sampling and control panels.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools and field equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including overnight stays. Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- 40-Hour
HAZWOPER
Certification.
