Fuel Service & Inspection Technician Cherokee Enterprises, Inc. Medley, FL 33178 POSITION SUMMARY Service Technician capable of inspecting, removing, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our client’s fueling facilities (vehicular, emergency generator, boilers, etc.).

Essential Functions:
Perform on-site maintenance to our client’s fueling facilities throughout South Florida regularly; Occasionally travel to remote sites to assist Project Personnel. Assist in diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of fuel/petroleum equipment problems. Perform fuel facility/systems monthly/annual/pre-regulatory inspections and diagnosis on regular schedules. Self- schedule much of your own activities in coordination with the Service Project Manager. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, with excellent work ethic, neat appearance and good communication skills. Keep customers informed of job progress, parts availability, cost estimates and job completion. Contracts may require rapid response (less than 4 hours) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Read, write, speak English with exceptional analytical and communication skills; Coordinate all required inspections with site Foreman and maintain good working relationships with inspectors. Reviews, analyzes, and updates Labor Hours/Job Costs Report information with project management on regular basis. Assist Project Managers with schedule preparation. Keep proper and complete documentation of project. Responsible for the care and maintenance of a stock of tools and fuel equipment inventory. Attend required training with Fuel and Electrical control systems. Participation in company provided training. Ensure accurate and complete cost coding of all time cards and Work Orders on a daily basis. Review, sign-off and forward time cards to corporate office as required. Ensure efficient project closeout, including completion of all punch list work, owner training and instruction, transfer of spare parts, final cleanup, demobilization and project records archiving. Enforce and implement the dictates and recommendations of the EHS department. Complete all documentation required in the Corporate Health and Safety plan.
Environmental:
Assist the Environmental Scientist in performance of sampling. Set up of sampling and monitoring equipment – this includes calibration of field equipment Maintenance of equipment (cleaning and repair) Conduct or assist with environmental sampling – may include groundwater, surface water, or soil Complete field logs with all required information Set up field screening equipment/instruments (OVA Meter, GPS Trimble Unit, etc.), collect field data and document readings Read and interpret field/site maps, document site conditions/changes Document field activities with daily reports and pictures Properly pack samples and coordinate delivery of samples to laboratory Operate remediation/dewatering systems, maintain components (pumps, etc.), collect necessary samples for screening
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
Strong background or equivalent training in heavy mechanics, hydraulics and electrical systems. Strong diagnosis, repair, and testing abilities. Ability to interact with others, including customers and colleagues, in a professional and courteous manner. Demonstrate high standards for appearance, safety and professionalism. Ability to build rapport with clients and identify, define, and solve problems and satisfy customer needs. Ability to lead without constant supervision and be a self-starter. Strong Multi-tasking skills. Attention to detail. Must be a team player.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High school graduation or equivalent required. Trade School or Apprentice program strong plus.
Experience :
Minimum 3 years previous experience in this position.
Computer Skills:
Must have familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills. Complete Daily reports / JSAs / Tool Box meeting Ability to send and receive email. Ability to complete on-line time reporting, including preparation of Certified Payroll sign in. Submit Project Photos on scheduled basis. Ability to complete on-line training
Certificates & Licenses:
Currently or ability to obtain: NCCER accreditation desired OSHA 40 hour
HAZWOPER OSHA 30 HOUR CONSTRUCTION
Veeder Root Certification Pneumercator Certification Fuelmaster Certification Red Jacket Certification Others as the Market dictates
Other Requirements:
Driver’s License Competent Person lockout/Tagout, Confined space and trenching and excavation procedures in a safe manner. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and prepare, inspect, or review documents. Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain) Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds) Frequent bending, twisting and standing Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
Other Physical Requirements:
Must wear steel-toed boots, must wear protective eye-wear, hearing protection, may work in outdoors during inclement weather, ability to travel by car or plane, high frequency of computer keyboarding, high frequency of viewing a computer monitor, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
