Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. What are we looking for? The Environmental Technician will support the Building and Construction business by performing general environmental tasks in the field. Applicants must be willing to work off hours, weekends, and possible overtime hours in order to meet the aggressive schedules of the projects.

Shift/Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, can vary depending on workload What you’ll do:

  • This position will be primarily involved with the performance of surveys and air monitoring on asbestos, lead-based paint and indoor air quality (IAQ) arenas
  • Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, and other media as part of site assessment and remediation activities on projects with petroleum, metals, solvents, and other common contaminants
  • Organizing and maintaining various projects
  • Interaction with company personnel and clients
  • Performing equipment calibration
  • Preparing samples
  • Report generation
  • Oversee temporary and permanent monitoring well installations using various techniques, including direct push, hollow-stem auger, sonic drilling, etc.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of previous experience in environmental consulting (soil and groundwater assessments), asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold inspections sampling, and remediation

  • Must be able to work, manage tasks, and schedule independently
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
