Environmental Field Technician – Entry Level CATLIN Engineers and Scientists Raleigh, NC 27605 CATLIN Engineers and Scientists ( CATLIN ) has provided Environmental, Civil, and Geotechnical Engineering and Consulting services across North Carolina for nearly four decades. Since our inception in 1985, we’ve consistently delivered professional engineering, planning, and management services to a diverse clientele, including Federal, State, and Local governments. Our distinguished team is comprised of seasoned registered professionals proficient in various disciplines, including environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, geology, and environmental science. ENTRY LEVEL
individual in our Raleigh, NC office to assist with various types of environmental assessment, special waste evaluations and remediation activities. This position will involve physical labor conducting environmental sampling (soil and groundwater) and environmental assessment/remediation activities.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Working with a drill crew performing environmental or geotechnical drilling in NC, SC, VA or GA Logging split spoon samples Supervising monitoring well installation Preparing soil boring descriptions Evaluation of field and laboratory data Geotechnical laboratory testing Preparation of data tables and reports Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED required Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment), required Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for up to a week at a time GSA Per Diem on days with overnight travel Ability to manage, prioritize and meet schedule requirements for multiple projects/ tasks Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Good verbal and written communication skills Produce organized, accurate and professional work products Ability to work independently and in small groups Able to legally work in the United States Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and pass a pre-employment drug test Must have a clean driving record and ability to drive company-owned vehicles Candidate must be able to obtain DOD security clearance which includes thorough background checks.
