Job Summary and Qualifications The Infection Control Preventionist is responsible for the prevention, detection and control of infections in the facility. Establishes, institutes and maintains an effective system for evaluation and reporting infections in patients. All of this shall be accomplished based on a systematic body of professional knowledge. Responsible for providing adequate education for hospital staff.
What qualifications you will need:
BSN or Baccalaureate from other related Allied Healthcare profession: Medical Technology (MT), or Public Health (PH)/Epidemiology with formal course work in statistics or national Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse or licensed practical nurse in the state of practice and/or active compact license, in accordance with laws and regulation.
Or Related Allied Healthcare professional:
Medical Technology (MT), Public Health (PH)/Epidemiology. Three years of direct clinical practice, Lab work, or Public Health/Epidemiology experience. Experience working closely with physicians and other clinical care providers in group and one-on-one settings. Experience in critical care and/or OR helpful. MSN or Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Lab Technology/Microbiology preferred Demonstrated previous experience in infection control preferred Knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease management, microbiology, public health principles, and statistical analysis of clinical data preferred. ” Memorial Hospital has provided quality healthcare services since 1969, giving patients access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.
