Public Health Specialist I (Yiddish Speaking) (Department of Health)

11/20/2024 12:42 PM , Center for Disease Control and Prevention, is currently seeking a candidate to conduct activities that include communicable disease investigations and providing immunization education to the residents of Rockland County. Candidates must possess good knowledge of modern principles and practices of disease control and prevention; working knowledge of public health rules and regulations, especially as they relate to the prevention and control of diseases; the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and the ability to prepare reports, including routine activity and statistical reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Epidemiology, Nursing or related and one year of post-degree experience in professional activities related to communicable disease control and/or prevention

Note:

Two additional years of the required general experience in communicable disease control may be substituted for the specialized Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Epidemiology, Nursing, or related which included or was supplemented by nine or more credit hours in communicable disease prevention or control may be substituted for the required experience.

Other Requirements and Information:

Candidate must be fluent in Yiddish and a legal resident of Rockland County and will be required to take the Public Health Specialist I civil service examination and be reachable on the resulting eligible list to maintain employment
