Job Snapshot:
As a Staff Geologist, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Geologist and will support a wide range of civil, geotechnical, and environmental design projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients including nuclear facilities, reservoirs, dams, pipelines, transmission, landfills, mining, stormwater management, erosion control, and stream stabilization projects. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic and possess the ability to work as a team player.
Responsibilities can include:
Performing field and office work associated with hydrogeological investigations; environmental evaluations and sampling; and other project support. Field work will include drilling of soil borings; installation of monitor wells; classification of soil and rock; in-situ permeability testing; soil, groundwater, and gas sampling for chemical analysis
Office work will include preparation of data tables; graphical presentation of data; comparison of soil and groundwater data to State and Federal regulatory standards; and report preparation. Construction and environmental inspections, and communication with vendors, as well as internal and external clients.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a closely related field
Eligible for the Professional Geologist (PG) license within 4-5 years
Well-organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Geology
0-3 years of Geology experience
GIS experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as: Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
