Who are we looking for? GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Scientist to join our growing Lake Charles, LA team! Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Development of technical solutions using standard engineering/scientific methods on assignments of limited scope and complexity, usually minor phases of broader assignments. Presentation of results, data summaries and interpretation of data for review. Preparation of initial drafts of correspondence, reports, work plans, specifications, etc. for internal and/or external (client) review. Coordination and implementation of field work with some supervision. Performing a wide variety of field duties for routine environmental projects to include: groundwater sampling, soil sampling, subcontractor oversight, air monitoring Field implementation of work plans with limited supervision. Preparation of draft budget cost tables from information provided by others and own investigations for review. Larger task specific management under supervision and direction of supervisor or project manager/director. This position includes an important amount of fieldwork. What you will bring to the team: 4-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science) degree 0-3 years experience Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload Critical thinking and problem solving – ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem Must be self-motivated, organized, hardworking, and have strong written and technical skills Must reside near Lake Charles, LA Ability to travel #LI-AL1 As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
