LifeSouth Community Blood Centers needs to add an overnight Medical Laboratory Scientist to our Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) in Gainesville, FL .
- This position MUST be 3rd shift/overnight.
- 10-hour shifts for 4 days a week (specific days to be determined, based on staffing needs)
- Shift differential of 15%-20% applies to eligible evening and overnight hours.

MT/CLS/MLS
with ASCP, AAB or AMT, including immunohematology Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science Familiarity with blood banking Clinical laboratory training program or three years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience with a minimum of six months in the transfusion service or Immunohematology Reference Lab SBB(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) preferred Intangibles With This Position Opportunity to take advantage of LifeSouth’s accredited SBB training program Gain experience in a full service Immunohematology Reference Laboratory Opportunity to learn and continue to improve skills Responsibilities Include (but not limited to) Follow established policies and procedures Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify a supervisor, manager, or director Document all corrective action taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications Exercise professional judgment in evaluation, specimen integrity, results accuracy, and inter-result validity, and take corrective action as necessary Salary is based on relevant education and experience. Minimum starting salary range is $29.00 – $34.80 an hour. Shift differential applied to eligible evening and overnight hours.
