Senior Medical ScienceLiaison – Rare Disease – FL/PRTerritory to include Florida(excluding the panhandle) and Puerto RicoWhat you will doLet’s dothis. Let’s change the world. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL)acts as the primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders(OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs) and other healthcare providers and is responsible for performing Amgen Medicalfunction and product strategy as led by MSL Leadership, with thegoal of giving accurate information to OLs, community healthcareproviders and PHDMs to improve patient outcomes. The Rare DiseaseSr. MSL is a field-based position within the U.S. Medical teamreporting to the Rare Disease MSL Field Director. The territorywill include Florida and Puerto Rico.

Accountabilities andResponsibilities for the Sr.

MSL include:

Strategic Execution:

Majority of time spent on peer-to-peer activities with RareDisease Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and PHDMsto discuss and advance the scientific platform as aligned withAmgen’s company goals and objectives. Engage with PHDMs within assigned IDNs and other institutionsto communicate scientific based data of clinical value, outcomes,and economic data. Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify Amgen’sreach and access for patients. Conduct in-depth scientific exchange to provide focused andbalanced clinical and scientific information consistent with MSLcompliance standards. Support Amgen sponsored research and may serve as a studylead. Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinicalresearch. Provide and/or present field observations and insights tointernal stakeholders to inform Amgen strategies. Lead and support congress activities as aligned withstrategy. Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakersare updated on new data. Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSLstrategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership.

Compliantly partner across all Amgen field roles who sharecustomers to create an appropriately coordinated One Amgenexperience.

Core Competencies:

MSLs instill passion and move HCPs to take action in improvingpatient care related to closing care gaps. Mentor other MSLs as designated by MSL leadership. Execute all administrative responsibilities and training (e.g.,Veeva CRM, expense reports, compliance modules, etc.) in a timelymanner. Maintain and improve clinical/scientific acumen and expertisewith current data/information and healthcare trends. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships withexternal stakeholders, and possess excellent communication skillsto effectively communicate scientific data.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience.

OR Master’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience.

OR Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairsexperience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pharm.

D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degreesconsidered). Seven or more years in a medically related field, including 1year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medicalresearch. Experience in a medically related field can includepost-doctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships). 2 + years in a medical science liaison role in a biotech orpharmaceutical company. Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs ata biotech or pharmaceutical company. Rare Disease expertise in rheumatology and/or nephrology. Experience with designated territory. Professional working proficiency in Spanish.

Theexpected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excludingPuerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on severalfactors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience,and qualifications.
